64% increase in air passenger traffic Qatar

Qatar’s Civil Aviation Authority (QCCA) has reported a significant increase in air passenger traffic in January 2023. According to the QCCA’s Air Transport Statistics, Qatar welcomed 3,559,063 air passengers in January 2023, marking a 64.4% increase compared to the same period in 2022. The authority also reported a 19.3% year-on-year increase in aircraft movement, with 19,377 flights recorded in January 2023. However, cargo and mail recorded a decline of 12.3%, with 168,682 tonnes recorded in January 2023, compared to 192,253 tonnes in the same period in 2022.

Qatar also saw a surge in air passenger traffic in November and December 2022, with a total of 6,857,758 air passengers, representing a 61.7% increase compared to the same period in 2021. Meanwhile, aircraft movement during these two months rose by 33.9%, with 43,600 flights recorded in November and December 2022, compared to 32,557 flights in the same period in 2021.
