Airport begins human trafficking awareness initiative

Hamad International Airport (HIA) and the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) have launched a campaign to raise awareness of human trafficking issues within the airport building, and the Ministry of Labor (representing the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking) has announced a hotline for reporting abuses and violations related to human trafficking.

This campaign was announced as part of the Ministry of Labor‘s efforts to increase public understanding of human trafficking and its effects on society, in line with the state’s dedication to human rights and the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV 2030). Call 16-044 or email [email protected] if you have information regarding human trafficking abuse, which the Ministry began collecting at the start of 2022.

In light of the fact that Qatar will host millions of official delegations, fans, and those hoping to participate in the World Cup in less than two months, the Secretary-General of NHRC, Sultan bin Hassan Al Jamali, emphasised the importance of the campaign to combat human trafficking and its role in spreading and raising societal awareness and preventive work to avoid cases of human trafficking.
