Celebrations of Population Day in Qatar today

This festival, planned by the Permanent Population Committee (PPC), aims to raise awareness of population concerns and their connection to development while elucidating the evaluation criteria for the second population policy (2017–2022).

Participants in the celebration will include members of the Permanent Population Committee, as well as ministries and organisations focused on population and development issues, heads and members of working groups tasked with monitoring the implementation of the population policy programme of action and those involved in its development, as well as institutions and organisations from civil society and the United Nations Population Fund.

President of the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) and Chairman of the Permanent Population Committee H.E. Dr. Saleh bin Mohammed Al Nabit will officially launch Qatar Population Day 2022 festivities. Both Karl Kulessa, a representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in the GCC Countries who lives in Muscat, and H.E. Abdulaziz bin Nasser Al Khalifa, President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau, will speak during the opening session.
