Doha skies to fill with 50 colorful hot air balloons from Jan 19th

During the Qatar Balloon Festival, which runs from January 19 to 28, fifty hot air balloons will adorn the sky over Doha. The event will return to its original location at Old Doha Port after being postponed in 2014 as the nation hosted the World Cup from November to December. According to the event’s organizer, the festival’s third iteration will be a “fun-filled family event with a spectacular colorful display of over 50 Hot Air Balloons participating from around the world.”

For those who wanted to experience the exhilaration of hot air ballooning, a unique offer has also been established with the assistance of the festival’s organizers and Qatar Tourism. Until March 20, interested parties can schedule a balloon flight for a reduced price of QR499 per person. This ticket is not refundable and is valid for a 30- to 45-minute morning hot air balloon ride. Only the morning version of the experience is offered from January to March, with minor regional variations.
