Haj 2023 registration begins Sunday

The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs stated yesterday that registration will begin on Sunday, February 12, for locals and foreigners who intend to perform Haj this year.

According to Ali bin Sultan Al Misifri, director of the Department of Hajj and Umrah at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, the online registration procedure would begin at 8am and run for one month, until March 12, 2023. Al Misifri, speaking at a news briefing yesterday at the Ministry, stated that 18 Haj tour companies have been given initial approval to transport pilgrims from Qatar to Makkah via air or road, depending on demand for the forthcoming Haj season.

Speaking about the registration requirements, he said, “Qatari citizens and nationals of other GCC countries should be 18 years and above. However, expatriates should not be less than 40 years, and should have been residing in Qatar for at least 10 years.”
