Katara hosts third QOC Beach Games

The Qatar Olympic Committee Beach Games 2023 kicked off on March 10 at the Cultural Village Katara, and will run until March 17. The third edition of the event is seeing over 800 participants from different age groups competing in a variety of beach sports, including Beach football, Beach volleyball, 3×3 Beach basketball, boxing, karate, swimming and duathlon. The organizing committee has allocated QR500,000 as prize money for top winners.

The opening ceremony was attended by notable figures including HE Secretary-General of the Olympic Committee Jassim Rashid Al Buainain, HE Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Qatar Ridwan Hassan, and General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation Katara Dr. Khaled bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti. The tournament’s first day witnessed competitions in Beach football, Beach volleyball, aquathlon and boxing. The Qatar Olympic Committee Beach Games aim to promote sports culture and encourage healthy lifestyles among the Qatari community.
