Leading figures attend Amir’s World Cup reception

Yesterday, Amir H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani hosted a welcoming ceremony at Al Bayt Stadium for Their Majesties, Excellencies, and Highnesses leaders of fraternal and friendly nations, as well as heads of delegations participating in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM opening ceremony.

The ceremony was also attended by Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; representative of H.H. the Amir of Kuwait Crown Prince H.H. Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah; Crown Prince of Jordan HRH Hussein bin Abdullah II; Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; Crown Prince of Dubai H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum; Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports of Oman and Representative of H.M. the Sultan of Oman H.H. Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham bin Tarik Al Said; and Caretaker Prime Minister of Lebanon H.E. Najib Mikati.

The reception was also attended by the President of Senegal H.E. Macky Sall; President of Rwanda H.E. Paul Kagame; President of Liberia H.E. George Weah; Vice-President of the Republic of Ecuador H.E. Alfredo Borrero; UN Secretary-General H.E. Antonio Guterres; President of the International Olympic Committee H.E. Thomas Bach; Aide to the President of the Russian Federation H.E. Igor Levitin; Vice-President of India H.E. Jagdeep Dhankhar; and Vice-President of Venezuela H.E. Delcy Eloina Rodriguez.

FIFA President H.E. Gianni Infantino also attended the ceremony. H.H. the Amir reviewed a variety of World Cup-related issues with Their Majesties, Excellencies, and Highnesses. He welcomed them to Qatar and wished them a pleasant stay as well as success in the sport.
