Nearly 14,000 Qatar Airways flights during World Cup operated

After Argentina’s historic 4-2 triumph over 2018 champions France on penalties, Qatar Airways wrapped off its FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM voyage in style by handing out medals and individual prizes to the winners. After a fantastic month of nonstop excitement, the airline flew around 14,000 passengers, bringing the entire globe to Qatar for the biggest athletic event ever.

The historic FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM was commemorated by Qatar Airways with its worldwide passengers with a variety of local, regional, and onboard football-themed activations and entertainment events as the Official Airline Partner of FIFA and the Journey. With almost 3.4 million spectators turning out for the 64 games, the event was a huge success.

More than 1.8 million fans visited the Qatar Airways Sky House at the FIFA Fan Festival at Al Bidda Park during the course of the competition. A variety of interactive games were available at the recognisable pavilion, including a Neymar challenge, the Qverse experience, Swing the World, foosball, and face painting.
