New underpasses ease movement at Corniche waterfront

Engineer Laila Jassim Salem, project design manager at the Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar stated that four new underpasses have been built along the Corniche waterfront to improve accessibility and traffic flow where pedestrians can reach the seaside without crossing the road.

Moreover, a unified network has been set up incorporating pedestrian and cycling paths, allowing tourists to stop at Souq Waqif and then go through an underpass to the Museum of Islamic Art. The official continued by saying that new yards were built in the old Doha neighborhood to make it a recreational outlet while still maintaining the area’s unique character.
