Notable increase in public parks and green spaces

In Qatar, there are now 148 public parks, up from 56 in 2010—a 164 percent increase. Additionally, the amount of green space in the nation expanded from almost 2.5 million square metres in 2010 to more than 43 million square metres in 2022.

From less than one square metre in 2010 to 16 square metres in 2017, there was a 16-fold increase in the per-person share of the green space. As part of the project to plant one million trees, which was started in 2019, the millionth tree was recently planted. Several public parks, including Umm Al Seneem, Rawdat Al Khail, and Panda House Park, are scheduled to open in 2022, according to a recent announcement from Muhammad Ali Al Khouri, director of the public parks department. He claimed that numerous parks underwent renovation and service expansion this year in preparation for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM spectators. Umm Al Seneem Park in Umm Al Seneem, Al Rayan Municipality, inaugurated on November 1, 2022, breaking the previous record for the largest air-conditioned jogging track in the world.
