PHCC educates the public about asthma

The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) provides guidance for asthmatic patients on how to avoid and manage asthma attacks because asthma is one of the most common lung disorders, particularly in youngsters.

The internal genetic (inherited) variables and environmental stimuli that people are exposed to throughout their lives are the most likely causes of this condition.

Dr. Mohamed Raslan, a family physician at PHCC’s Umm Slal Health Center, stated that breathing in dust, pollen, pet dander, dust mites from carpets or rugs, smoke or fumes, fragrances, or other respiratory irritants are examples of external causes. Furthermore, a typical asthma trigger that might cause an asthma attack is chilly weather.

Symptoms of asthma might differ from person to person. Youngsters with asthma may experience difficulty sleeping as a result of its signs and symptoms, which can include a mild but persistent cough, chest tightness or discomfort, shortness of breath, and wheezing while exhaling, especially in children. One of the most severe symptoms of an asthma attack is difficulty speaking, which may become unstable as the disease worsens.
