Qatar becomes the first non-US country to get a PHAB award

Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) is the first government agency outside the United States to earn national accreditation from the US Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB).

On October 5th, in the presence of several officials from the Ministry of Public Health, Primary Health Care Corporation, Hamad Medical Corporation, and Qatar University, PHAB President and CEO Paul Kuehnert presented H.E. Dr. Hanan Mohammed Al-Kuwari with the certificate of accreditation of public health services in the State of Qatar. This approval is based on the fact that the service offered conforms to stringent international standards of quality in the field of public health.

A few weeks before the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM, the State of Qatar received international accreditation for its public health services. This is the first time in FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM history that a tournament is held in a country that has received international accreditation for its public health services, and it inspires confidence in the implementation of the best public health standards during the tournament, including emergency health, mass security, and other public health service.
