Qatar is optimistic before their World Cup debut

As they get ready for their first FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM appearance, hosts Qatar face a hard job in a difficult group, but midfielder Assim Madibo says the team is optimistic in advance of a significant test.

In order to avoid being just the second host nation to be eliminated from a World Cup in the group stage, the Felix Sanchez-coached team will play the Netherlands, Senegal, and Ecuador in Group A. The only host nation to lose in the opening round was South Africa, who hosted the event in 2010.

According to Madibo, all of the Al Annabi players are becoming more and more excited as the big kickoff draws closer. “The excitement in the team is wonderful. We are all confident,” Madibo said on Qatar Football Association Twitter. “We are working towards a single goal; to give a strong show against the top sides of the World. All the players are working like a unit with senior players guiding the junior players in the team,” the 26-year-old said before adding the support of home fans will be important for the Asian champions. “We are expecting huge support from our fans, which will be very important for us in our matches,” he said.
