Sport Minister joins public at Aspire Park on National Sport Day
Yesterday’s National Sport Day (NSD) celebration in Qatar featured sports events, engaging activities, and enjoyable competitions for all age groups, emphasising the need of exercise for good health.
On this occasion, HE Salah bin Ghanim Al Ali, Minister of Sports and Youth, stated that the 12th edition of the NSD had widespread involvement from all facets of society in the wee hours of the morning. He expressed his tremendous joy at the amazing environment in the area around Aspire Zone and the wonderful interaction with the events held by various government organisations and institutions around the nation. Sports are the best option for a healthy lifestyle, as evidenced by the National Sports Day theme this year, “Choice is Yours.” The Sport Day amply demonstrates the significance of sports and their beneficial effects on both physical and mental health.
Mohammad Mohammadpour, Event organiser and community coach at Qatar Sports For All Federation (governed by Ministry of Sports and Youth) said, “On the occasion of sport day we have a big event at the Aspire Park. We have more than 15 stations out of which 12 stations are related to physical activities showing benefits of exercise. We have more than 12 stations of games where elderly, youth and kids can play.”
