The 54th Cairo International Book Fair is held in Qatar

The 54th edition of the Cairo International Book Fair (CIBF), which begins on Wednesday, will have participation from Qatar, which will be represented by the Ministry of Culture and a number of Qatari publishers.

The book fair, which runs until February 6, will feature titles from Qatari publishers such the Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) Press and Dar Al Watad for Publishing and Distribution. In addition to increasing cooperation and exchanging experiences with workers in the field of culture and publishing, the Ministry of Culture participates in international book fairs to introduce Qatari intellectual production to sizable readerships and inform them of the ongoing development of the publishing industry in Qatar. Bachar Chebaro, Executive Director of HBKU Press, attributed the participation to the HBKU’s ongoing dedication to showcasing its best publications to Arab and international audiences, given the CIBF’s reputation as one of the largest and most prestigious book fairs in the region and its enormous pavilions that house a significant number of international publishers.
