MIA Park hosts ‘Cinema Under the Stars’

“Cinema Under the Stars” at the Doha Film Institute (DFI) is back this year. There will be free movie showings tomorrow through Saturday (Jan. 19–21) in the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Park.

The program is a series of outdoor family-friendly movies. It staged screenings in Katara Hills and Heenat Salma Farm throughout the previous two years. It was hosted in MIA Park for the final time in 2020. It will show the 2016 movie Hunt for the Wilderpeople tomorrow, the beloved 2013 movie Frozen on January 20, and The Boy and the World on January 21. The free event has a restricted capacity and all movies will start at 7 o’clock, according to the DFI website. Taika Watiti, who directed Hunt for the Wilderpeople, skillfully combines off-the-wall humour, outstanding acting, and a touching narrative to offer a fresh perspective on the wilderness adventure story. Based on Barry Crump’s novel Wild Pork and Watercress, the movie.
