Canadian artists’ eye-catching murals art during Qatar World Cup 2022

Carling Jackson had aspirations of playing football and representing Canada at the FIFA Women’s World Cup when she was younger.

The native of Vancouver competed at a high level in North America and received an invitation to train with Canada Soccer. But a string of injuries ended her football career at the young age of 22, prompting her to reconsider her goals for the future.

Carling has always loved painting, and after hanging up her boots, she studied human rights art. In 2017, she started working as a full-time artist. Since then, she has established a large internet following, branded herself as “The Athlete Artist,” and produced a number of unique pieces for prominent athletes all around the world.

Carling has spent the past week in Qatar as a member of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM Cultural Activation Program run by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy. She created paintings near the Corniche, outside the Al Bayt and Lusail stadiums, and even during the Argentina vs. France championship game.
