Gaziantep survivors rescued by Qatari search and rescue team

Two people were rescued by the Qatari search and rescue team from the wreckage of a collapsed structure in southern Turkiye. In a Tweet, the Turkish embassy in Doha said that a 12-year-old kid who had been trapped for several hours under the debris in Nordag, Gaziantep, had been saved by a Qatari crew.

On Tuesday, the first aircraft of the air bridge that Qatar had designated to help Turkey following the tragic earthquake landed in Turkiye. This coincided with the arrival of the Qatari International Search and Rescue Group of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya). In the Turkish province of Gaziantep, the group has begun overseeing the coordinating cell for the activities of search and rescue teams for foreign organisations. Meanwhile, under the slogan “Support and Help,” Qatar TV invited everyone to take part in a relief effort tomorrow night to aid the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.
