Ministry launches ‘Smart Parking’ platform in Qatar

The Smart Parking Service, which gives users a seamless parking experience by offering information on the available parking spaces and allowing them to find and reach parking spots using their mobile phones, was introduced on October 27, 2022 by Ministers of Transport H.E. Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti and of Communications and Information Technology H.E. Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai.

One of the five smart sectors launched as part of the Smart Qatar Program is the Smart Parking service (TASMU).

In order to provide drivers and parking owners in Qatar with a unified digital experience, government agencies including the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Municipality, and the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) worked together to launch this new service.

In addition to more than 28,000 parking spaces in Souq Waqif, Al Bidaa Park, Corniche, Gate Mall, Lusail, Msheireb, and other locations, as well as additional parking lots that will be added to the app, the Smart Parking service includes parking spaces in adjacent parking lots in important roads and locations, such as Corniche and West Bay.
